We have concluded a difficult financial year 2024, which has challenged us economically and operationally even more than in previous years of crisis. The economic downturn has weakened demand for transport services across Europe. Rail freight transport continues to suffer massively as a result of the numerous construction measures to modernise the rail infrastructure.

Nevertheless, Kombiverkehr managed to survive the past year largely unscathed. Despite volume losses on almost all transport routes, the company was able to maintain its train programme without major restrictions thanks to intelligent network management in close cooperation with its service partners, the railways.

Combined transport remains an important transport alternative for logistics, industry and trade in order to reduce emissions in the transport sector. We therefore continue to call for more support at transport policy level for users of the most environmentally friendly and safest mode of transport.
